Oh, hello!

Hi there! Thank you for visiting. Lots of exciting things happening in the world of Christina Best these days! Shot my first wedding of this wedding season on Saturday. I turned 29 on the same day and couldn’t be happier to start my 29th trip around the sun capturing love and snapping the day away. I am shooting portraits of a friend for fun this evening, and have two shoots this weekend. The momentum of my photography business is really rolling right now, and I feel the need to write about it!

It’s been 6 years since I graduated college after studying photography. Over these 6 years, I’ve gone through ups/downs and many growing pains, but it feels now as if the hardships and insecurities I’ve faced are paying off. As they say “everything happens for a reason” and I feel that way now! Maybe I had to struggle a bit and work extra hard to make my dreams a reality.

In the words of J Cole, “they say that dreams come true and when they do, that there’s a beautiful thing”. I couldn’t agree more. Life is beautiful. The summer is here. Love is in the air. There is light to capture and moments to document. I am happy. 

I learned that it’s okay to be wrong, it’s okay to admit any lack of understanding. The last year I focused on loving myself, forgiving myself, and trying to be my #1 supporter instead of my #1 critic. I set goals, I did things that scared me, and I will continue to do so. Importantly, instead of fearing failure, I embraced it. In the words Arya Stark “every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”.  

Cheers to the final year in my 20’s, to working hard, to loving yourself, and to the hustle!
