Alice and John Wedding Highlights!

Anne, a friend from college, messaged me in early January asking if I was available in June to document her older sister, Alice’s wedding. I had the date available, and was thrilled to have booked a summer wedding to document two people in love (my favorite thing!)

Alice and John have been together for years and decided to make it official on June 24, 2017 at the Lighthouse at Glen Cove Marina in Vallejo. They met in Vallejo and were excited to be getting married in that city with all their fam and friends! Through the process, I got to know Alice’s mom, Barbara, who was an absolute joy.

They hired the coordinator of coordinators, Tamara of Tamara J Events, to help put together final details. It was her 500th wedding, and I was excited to work with someone so down and diligent on all the details. I can’t stress enough how awesome it is to hire a coordinator for your big day, especially someone who can help with set up, logistics, and keep everyone on time. Tamara was all about the details, so it felt like a dream working with her!

Back to the bride and groom! John’s a mariner, so it was only appropriate he marry his love surrounded by boats! The entire wedding had a nautical and maritime feel to it. It was honestly a dream come true to photograph… from all the decor, loving family, and two people in love. Nothing is better than that.

The Lighthouse had gorgeous light, a ship’s steering wheel (used in a lot of photos), and great places for everyone to get ready. And that’s only the inside! The outside had SO MANY PLACES to shoot. I swear I could have captured Alice and John all the way through dinner, but I had to let them eat and enjoy themselves. Thankfully we went out for sunset photos overlooking the Carquinez Bridge and bay. It was absolutely lovely.

I have to thank my darling fiancée, Anna,  for being my 2nd shooting for this wedding. I can’t imagine having captured it with anyone else. She’s a teacher by trade, but has such a creative eye for details and posing people, that I needed her with me to capture this day!

It’s so impressive how much hard work, love, and creativity goes into a wedding day. I’m blessed to have captured Alice and John’s union, and am even more blessed to have gotten to know them and their families. I love my job, and this wedding was everything. The location and entire team of vendors that helped made this day even more amazing!

I delivered Alice and John’s wedding gallery yesterday and wanted to share a few handfuls of my favorite photos. There are so many photos! Usually it takes around 4 weeks to finish editing a wedding, but I completed this one in two weeks because I was so jazzed on this couple, this wedding, these photos! My heart is full.
