Beth and Sean’s Sacramento Wedding

Beth and Sean are one of a kind! I’m overjoyed to have had the opportunity to meet them and capture their wedding. It was the most fun of wedding days!!

While Beth was busy dressing and preparing at the Sterling Hotel, Sean got ready for the big day a few blocks away at the Sheraton. Michelle, my amazing second shooter, and I captured both of them during the process. The bride and groom, wedding party, and families then made their way to Capitol Park where the first look, family photos, and  ceremony took place. The reception followed at the Sterling.

Beth and Sean’s first look was sweet and intimate. They had a moment to admire and embrace one another and fully soak in the bond they were about to establish. What a truly romantic and magical time!

The wedding party was then invited to join us for epic wedding party photos followed by some family shots. As everyone  else to headed to the ceremony site, Beth, Sean, and I snuck around to the Capitol. Well, we didn’t sneak in, the Capitol was open so we spent a couple of minutes there to take some portraits.

Finally it was time to head to the west lawn for the ceremony. Beth and Sean’s closest family and friends were ready to witness them say their “‘I do’s.” It was the first day of summer, warm and sunny, and the Capitol steps could not have been a more perfect place for them to tie the knot.

The Capitol was such a spectacular place for their ceremony. With views of the Capitol building, the Tower Bridge, and so many great angles to shoot from, this is now one of my favorite spots to photograph weddings.

After proceeding down the aisle, Beth and Sean watched and cheered on their wedding party. I’ve never seen a couple do this before and loved it!! It was so fun to see their enthusiasm and of course, document it.

The celebration continued at the Sterling for cocktail hour. Thankfully we’d taken the family and formal photos before the ceremony, so they were able to enjoy cocktail hour. We captured photos of happy guests and reception details before the grand entrance.

The reception began with a charming first dance between the newlyweds. When dinner was served, we had a few bites, and then drew Beth and Sean out for sunset photos before the rest of the evening’s activities began. Some of my favorite pictures from their wedding day were taken during this time.

Back at the reception it was time for speeches and lots of dancing!! Beth and Sean made the perfect wedding playlist and danced their hearts out. It was a party!

There are a handful of moments from this special couple’s wedding day that I will never forget. They walked down the aisle to a Decemberist’s song, a favorite band of mine. Sean danced the most epic dance to “Whip it” while everyone cheered him on. While shooting sunset photos, there was the cutest dog walking by with its owners, so of course we had to stop for pets! Some things are unpredictable!

What stands out the most for me from this wedding is the way Beth and Sean love each other… The way they look at each other with adoration, and the way they interact with each other. I swear, they were cuter just being themselves than when I posed them. They also had the most awesome friends who were funny and so supportive. I’m honored and thankful to know them and to be a part of their love story. Plus, they had cupcakes. Cheers!

Thank you, Beth and Sean, for having me capture your wedding day and for your continued friendship. I love you two!
