Bold and Classy Styled Bridal Shoot Sacramento, CA

At the end of November I had my very first styled bridal shoot. If you’re not sure what that is, it’s basically a staged shoot (not a real wedding), that gives wedding vendors a chance to get together, collaborate, and try new styles or ideas.

I’d always wanted to be apart of a styled shoot. I love collaboration and it seemed like a great way to create while having a bit more creative control than you might on typical a wedding day.

How it all came together… I met Karina, an amazing make up artist, at a Women in Power brunch earlier this year. She reached out wanting to collaborate and try out some new wedding looks. I was on board and as we started chatting about location and potential other vendors to be involved. I contacted my favorite wedding coordinator, Marjorie, of Something Planned Events to see if she wanted to join us and if we could shoot at my favorite venue, The Courtyard D’oro. The Courtyard is extra special because it’s where I married Anna in April this year, and Marjorie helped coordinate our wedding!

After connecting Karina and Marjorie, I feel like the rest is history. Karina knew a hair stylist, got our models, and arranged their dresses, while Marjorie took care of connecting with the florist, linens, and baker. What a dream for me to be able to show up and shoot. I got to watch the process come together, see everyone work their magic, and then document it. 

Everything came together so beautifully. I was a bit nervous because it’s a lot of moving parts, time, commitment, and folks are volunteering their time and resources, but my expectations were blown away!

Thank you to everyone involved, it was so fun, and I can’t wait to do it again!

To everyone else, don’t be scared to do something you’ve wanted to try. Chances are, it’s easier than you might think.
