Cristin + Rexx Firehouse Wedding

Cristin and Rexx, met serendipitously over pizza and beer. They fell in love over dates in Midtown and around Sacramento at Old Soul Coffee, Divine Gelateria, One Speed Pizza, and many more places  (which made an appearance as the table names at their wedding).

I met Cristin through my wife, Anna. They work together. Anna is a teacher, and Cristin is her principal. They are both obsessed with the show The Office… so let me give you a rundown of this wedding. 

I shot Cristin and Rexx’s wedding at the end of September in Old Sacramento at the Firehouse Restaurant. It was so amazing to be around such kind folks, and their friends and family from near and far. Our weddings had quite a few parallels. Cristin and Rexx’s wedding was at the Firehouse in Old Sacramento, while Anna and I got married across the alley way at the Courtyard D’Oro. Both have a New Orleans feel, and have elements of ivy, brick, wood, and greenery. It was my first time shooting at the Firehouse and I’ve fallen in love with it’s vibe and ambience. 

It was seriously such a fun wedding to be apart of. From the getting ready photos at the top floor of the Embassy Suites, the first look in front of the Tower Bridge, walking around Old Sacramento taking photos, I loved it all! 

Seeing the way two people love and interact with each other on their wedding day is my favorite to document. As we walked from the promenade to the venue, they chatted away while I took photos. So many Old Sac patrons wished them congratulations and cheered for them. Everyone was smiling. It was a beautiful day to get married. 

The ceremony took place as the sun set, lit by market and candle lights. The ambience was real! The sweet ceremony was followed by a delicious dinner, speeches, cake cutting, and the most epic dance party!
