Monday Reflection April 13, 2020

This afternoon started with lunch al fresco and a game of ping pong with Anna. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping. This is the first Monday in a handful of Mondays that I feel at peace. Between the Covid-19 climate, having to reschedule weddings the next couple months, and losing our cat Big, I’ve been a bit off, but my mindset has shifted from grief to gratitude. All my clients have been so flexible and understanding, and I’m glad Big is no longer in pain. I’m also loving the extra quality time with my wife, Anna, and learning to slow down. Realizing how privileged we are, and trying to not take a moment of this life for granted no matter the circumstance.

I temporarily moved my desk from our office into our plant-filled sunroom, and I feel incredibly lucky to have the space to do this and now be surrounded by plants while I work. This morning I woke up groggy and out of focus, but knew I wanted to work today so I pushed through the fog. Making the shift in work space helped me find my flow, along with Spotify’s Focus Flow playlist. I’ve definitely given myself grace these last few weeks when it comes to work, as I think we all should right now, but I am grateful for the motivation and to get a few things done today.

We had a relaxing Easter weekend. On Friday, we each received contact-less deliveries from local businesses. Anna ordered an olive loaf from Andy Bakes Bread, while I ordered a wrapped bouquet from Botanical Preserves. The bread and the blooms filled us with joy, and had me reminiscing of so many Farmer’s Market trips. I am happy to support local businesses and that we each got each other a little something special for the weekend (the bread only lasted for a short time because it was so yummy, and the blooms are still going strong). Couldn’t resist taking a few photos of everything before we sliced the bread!

Thank you to everyone that has reached out.  Your support and concern is truly encouraging. I know we will get through this.

I’ve gotten some questions about photo sessions and wanted to share an FAQ:

Should I reschedule my photo session?

If your session is scheduled anytime between now and May 21, 2020, yes, let’s reschedule. I am abiding by CA/CDC laws regarding shelter in place. Thanks to my May/June wedding clients for figuring out a new wedding date so I can celebrate with you and capture your love. Portrait clients can be scheduled once SIP is lifted. I appreciate everyone so much for rescheduling and not canceling. You are the reason my business exists, and I am so excited to create with you once we get back out there!

Are you currently booking sessions?

Yes, I am booking sessions to be photographed at a later date. I’m offering $100 off to anyone that pays for their session in full. Applied to full sessions only (does not apply if you have already booked a deposit).  They will be scheduled once Shelter in Place is complete to avoid scheduling and rescheduling in case it is extended further. Buy yourself or someone else a gift card for a future session. More info here. (*Update: Hoping to start shooting after May 22!)

Are you still taking photos?

I’ll never stop taking photos, however I am not capturing clients during this time. I’ve been shooting a lot around the house including food, plants, and cats! Be sure to check out my latest blog posts to see more.

How can I help your business?

THANK YOU FOR ASKING! Something as simple as a like/comment/share on social media is wonderful! Referrals are the best way to spread love to a small business, so feel free to tell your friends and fam about this little business of mine.

Exciting news! Book a branding, family, engagement, anniversary, or just because session and receive $100 off if you pay in full. Snag the $450 session for just $350 for yourself or as a gift. This includes a 1-1.5 hour session, up to 50 edited images, delivered 1-2 weeks after shoot. Buy now, redeem later. All the details are here!

Order a print or purchase a digital file. These are perfect if you’re redecorating or looking for a beautiful stock photo for your newsletter, instagram stories, etc. To see the gallery (which is mostly cacti), click here.

If you have other questions or ideas, feel free to get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.

With love and gratitude,

Christina
