Nod Pilates

Hi! I’m here to blog about my awesome shoot with Linsey of Nod Pilates. Linsey and I met earlier this year at the Women in Power Brunch. We have a few mutual friends (Hi Carly! I’ll be blogging our shoot soon!), so it was nice to cross paths again. Our shoot was a mix of head shots and pilates shots. I love getting a mix of lifestyle portraiture both in the field and on location. It’s a nice way to get to know someone casually and then capture them doing what they do!

Linsey was a hairstylist turned pilates instructor. She’s teaching the Do Anything Better workshop on October 28th. As someone who has experienced pain, she uses pilates to help release pain and get more energy doing the things you do. Her goal is to have you rely on yourself for pain relief, and feel empowered to take care of yourself. I can’t wait to attend this workshop and recommend it to anyone with consistent pain that wants to beat it!

I spent a lot of time carrying heavy camera gear, or sitting and standing for long periods of time. I have pain. I manage it through stretching, acupuncture, chiropractor, and love an epsom salt bath, but am so excited to learn new techniques to make me stronger and less sore. Working out this year has been very helpful, and I notice being less sore when I’m not consuming sugar.

Often after a long wedding shoot day, your body can feel like it was hit by a bus, and it can be hard to do anything the next day. From time to time, I don’t mind a couch day, but I’d rather feel physically great than extra sore.

Linsey is awesome though, and I recommend checking out her workshop and following her on Instagram. She’s open, honest, kind, and positive in real life and on the internet.

Cheers,

Christina
