Strawberry Solstice

Today is such a special day! Two things that rarely occur on the same day- the Summer Solstice and Strawberry Full Moon. I thought it’d be cool to wake up for sunrise this morning, but I just couldn’t get out of bed. I’m thankful for the rest. 

The good news is I finished up a client gallery, worked, played with a dog, and then spent the evening at the river. I went out around 8 and explored the American River at my favorite spot, Sutter’s Landing. I watched the sun go down. It was full of colors. The sky was painted with love. I waited for the moon. It took longer than expected to rise, but was worth the wait. It glowed over the horizon and I smiled as it rose into the sky. I snapped a few photos, wrote down some goals, and thoroughly enjoyed the first day of summer.
